Voisard shines on second day of NJCAA women's golf nationals, now fourth

Daytona Beach, Fla. – After a strong first round at the NJCAA National Women's Golf Championship Tuesday, Mesa freshman Madison Voisard did herself even better Wednesday, firing a one-over-par 73.

After sitting in a tie for fifth place with an opening-round 75, Voisard is now alone in fourth place with a 77-73—150. She is just one shot out of third place.

She had a steady round with two birdies and three bogeys over the difficult LPGA International Hllis Course.

Teammate Taylor Gransen also improved from day one. She put together an 86 Wednesday to pair with her first round 88 for a 174 total. The sophomore from Kayenta, AZ, and Corona de Sol H.S., in Tempe, is alone in 41st place in the 127-player field.

The event, shortened to 54 holes due to rain Monday, concludes Thursday.
