Kapanicas leads women's golf to 21-shot lead at Estrella Mountain Inv.
Goodyear, AZ – With Haley Kapanicas leading the way the women's golf team opened a 21-shot lead on the first day of play at the Estrella Mountain Invitational Monday. The tournament is being played at the Tres Tios G.C.
Kapanicas grabbed a four-shot lead in individual play with a 76 helping the T-Birds to a 331 total. Chandler-Gilbert is second at 352 and South Mountain third with a 353.
For MCC, Hannah Brown is tied for fourth heading into the final day of play with an 80 on day one. Megan Fusak is tied for sixth after carding an 84 and Cheyanne Stewart is in 11th place after shooting an 88.
The event concludes Tuesday.
