Fusak co-medalist as women's golf scores 71-shot win at South Mountain Invitational

  Phoenix, AZ – Led by Megan Fusak who took co-medal honors with an 82-73—155 total, the Mesa women's golf team surged to its 74th consecutive ACCAC tournament victory at the South Mountain Invitational Wednesday. The tournament was held at the Foothills G.C.

  Fusak shared the top spot with Pima's Desiree Hong, and paced the T-Birds to a 71-stroke victory over Pima with a 328-315—643. The second round 315 was MCC's best of the year. Pima closed with a 365-349—714, eight shots in front of Chandler-Gilbert at 364-358—722.

  The T-Birds placed four players among the top seven. Haley Kapanicas was fourth with an 80-79—159. Madison Tjaden took sixth place, carding an 83-81—164 and Cheyanne Stewart was seventh, closing with an 83-82—165.

  The T-Birds will now take a break before travelling to the Pima Invitational April 3-4 at the Randolph North G.C. in Tucson.
