Fusak's 71 helps women's golf to 25-shot lead at Chandler-Gilbert Invitational

  Queen Creek, AZ – Megan Fusak shot an even-par 71 Sunday to spark the Mesa women's golf team to a 25-shot lead at the Chandler-Gilbert Invitational. The tournament is being played at the Las Colinas G.C.

  Fusak shared the individual lead with Desiree Hong, of Pima. MCC recorded a team total of 317, its best of the season. Pima was second at 342 with Chandler-Gilbert third at 401 and South Mountain fourth, posting a 405.

  The T-Birds placed all four of their scoring players among the top 11. Along with Fusak, Cheyanne Stewart and Madison Tjaden both recorded 81s to tie for fifth place and Haley Kapanicas had an 84 to sit in 11th place.

  The event will finish Monday.
