Women's Golf Take 8th at Nationals

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Mesa women's golf team took eighth place at the NJCAA National Championship after the final round was cancelled due to inclement weather.  

The T-Birds posted a 54-hole total of 1016 and finished among the top ten in the nation for the 15th time in their 16-year history.  

Jill Harvison (Fr., Mesa, AZ/Mountain View H.S.) leads the Mesa contingent with a 242 total for 54 holes, which is good for a tie for 23rd place.  

Savannah Cooper (Fr., Sedona AZ/Red Rock H.S.) is at 249 and tied for 32nd place. Brianna Medrano (Fr., Gilbert, AZ/Gilbert H.S.) is tied for 44th place at 260. Samantha Hernandez is in a tie for 56th place with a 271 total. Chelsie Peterson (So., Tempe, AZ/Marcos de Niza H.S.) is at 286 and tied for 75th place.
