Women's Golf Wins South Mountain Invitational

PHOENIX, AZ – A solid second round helped lead the Mesa women's golf team to a victory at the South Mountain Invitational played Monday and Tuesday at the Legacy Golf Resort.  

In winning its 68th-consecutive Region I tournament, MCC fashioned a second round 313 led by Savannah Cooper who took medal honors with a 73-72—145.  

The T-Birds fired a 320-313—633 to win by 19 shots over host South Mountain which had a 334-318—652. Pima finished third at 341-345—686.  

Just behind Cooper individually was Jill Harvison who tied for second place carding an 80-70—150.  

Brianna Medrano tied for seventh place recording an 84-84—168.  

Mesa concludes the regular season on Monday and Tuesday April 18-19 at the Pima Invitational which will be played at the Silverbell G.C. in Tucson.
