T-Birds Take 14 Shot Lead on First Day of Thunderbird Classic

MESA, AZ – Boasting four of the top six individual scores, the Mesa women's golf team grabbed a 14-shot lead after the first day of play in the Mesa Invitational at Dobson Ranch G.C. Sunday.  

MCC shot a 318 to lead second place Pima which stood at 332. South Mountain is third at 345.  

Savannah Cooper shot a 77 to pace the T-Birds and hold second place. Samantha Hernandez is tied for third with a 79 while Jill Harvison and Brianna Medrano each carded 81s to tie for fifth place.  

The tournament concludes Monday.
