Myerscough's 76 leads women's golf at NJCAA championship; MCC remains third

  MESA, AZ - Sierra Myerscough (So., Champiagn, Ill/St. Thomas More H.S.) shot a 76 to lead the Mesa women at the NJCAA Women's Golf National Championship, helping MCC to remain in third place as a team.

  Play continued, however all the top teams have finished for the day.

  The T-Birds had a 316 for the day and have a 54-hole total of 947. Seminole State (Fla.) leads the pack with an 895 total is it attempts to un-seat defending national champion Daytona State (Fla.) which is at 912. McLennan trails Mesa in fourth place at 959.

  Myerscough followed her 77 yesterday and now has a 54-hole total of 236.

  Jill Harvison (Fr., Mesa, AZ/Mountain View H.S.) was next for MCC with a 79 and a total of 238.

  Charatta Thongbai (So., Gilbert, AZ/Dobson H.S.) posted an 80 Wednesday for a 234.

  Jacquelyn Porman (So., Gilbert, AZ/Chandler H.S.) carded an 81 for a 242 total.

  Brianna Medrano (Fr., Queen Creek, AZ/Gilbert H.S.) finished with an 86 and a 252 total.

  The tournament concludes Thursday.
