Women's golf still third after second day of NJCAA championship

  MESA, AZ - On a wind-swept day at the Longbow G.C., the Mesa women's golf team held onto third place overall, but slipped 20 shots off leading Seminole (Fla.) State.

  Mesa carded a 318 for a two-day total of 631. Seminole State has a 303-298--601 and leads defending national champions Daytona (Fla.) State which has recorded a 304-310--614.

  MCC is ten shots clear of McLennan which is at 322-319--641.

  First in for Mesa was Brianna Medrano (Fr., Queen Creek, AZ/Gilbert H.S.) who had a 45-41--86.

  Jill Harvison (Fr., Mesa, AZ/Mountain View H.S.) shot a 44-36--80.

  Jacquelyn Porman (So., Gilbert, AZ/Chandler H.S.) shot a 40-41--81.

  Sierra Myerscough (So., Champaign, Ill/St. Thomas More H.S.) was at 40-37--77.

  Charatta Thongbai (So., Gilbert, AZ/Dobson H.S.) posted a 41-39--80 and is tied for seventh place overall at 154.
