Another first round lead for women's golf, 18 up at Chandler-Gilbert Inv.
MESA, AZ - Once again the Mesa women's golf team has taken a first round lead, this time an 18-shot margin over South Mountain at the Chandler-Gilbert Invitational Monday. The event is being played at the Toka Sticks G.C.
Mesa shot a 309 to lead SMCC which is at 327.
The T-Birds have all of the top four individuals, led by Sierra Myerscough (So., Champaign, Ill/St. Thomas More H.S.) who had a two-over-par 74.
Charatta Thongbai (So., Gilbert, AZ/Dobson H.S.) was second with a 77.
Brianna Medrano (Fr., Queen Creek, AZ/Gilbert H.S.) and Jacquelyn Porman (So., Gilbert, AZ/Chandler H.S.) were tied for third with 79s.
The tournament concludes Tuesday.
