Matadors Trip Up T-Birds Late as Mesa Falls, 59-55

Mesa, AZ - The Mesa Thunderbirds women's basketball team lost Wednesday night at home to the Arizona Western Matadors, 59-55.

In a bizarre game runs, the Matadors took a 23-10 lead after the first quarter.  It was then Mesa who outscored the Matadors, 20-5, in the second quarter to go to halftime with a 30-28 advantage. 

Mesa held the Matadors scoreless throughout the beginning of the third quarter with the T-Birds holding an 11 point lead at one point.  However, the Matadors began making shots and eventually regained the lead.

The T-Birds drop to 10-14 overall and 7-9 in conference.  They will travel to Cochise College this Saturday.
