T-Birds Blow Through Jegos, 90-49

Mesa had little trouble against the Tohono O'Odham Jegos Wednesday with a 90-49 victory at Theo Heap Gym.

Quynne Huggins scored 22 points, leading all scorers on the night.  18 of those points came in the first half alone.

Takara Wade led at the point guard position, almost knotching a triple-double, coming two points and two rebounds shy.  She finished with 10 assists, eight points and eight rebounds.

Mesa jumped out to an early 17-0 lead, taking advantage of the height advantage of the Jegos.  On the night, Mesa outrebounded the Jegos, 53-21.

All but one Mesa player scored on the night, with the T-Birds scoring the highest point total of the season.

Mesa moves to 7-0 on the season, 3-0 in the conference.  The T-Birds will be back at home on Saturday afternoon when they host the Chandler-Gilbert Coyotes.
