MESA, AZ - Jumping to a quick early lead and connecting consistently on three-pointers, the Mesa women rolled over Glendale, 73-43, Wednesday at Theo Heap Gym.
MCC (11-13, 8-8) jumped in front, 10-1, and led 19-8 at the first quarter break. By halftime it was 40-24 T-Birds. Glendale is now 10-12, 4-12.
Rebecca Rudd (So., Gilbert, AZ, JHighland H.S.) led the way with a career-high 16 points, including 4-5 shooting from three-point range. The T-Birds finished 10-21.
Brianna Clah (So., Chinle, AZ/Many Farms H.S.) added 14 points and came close to a triple-double with nine rebounds and eight assists.
Sham Troupe (Fr., Phoenix, AZ/Dobson H.S.) contributed ten points, while Allies Fuller (Fr., Buckeye, AZ/Buckeye H.S.) scored ten and had seven boards. Janaessa Aukward (So., Phoenix, AZ, Sierra Linda H.S.) narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and nine assists.
Mesa will visit South Mountain Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
