Mesa, AZ- Mesa women's basketball defeated the Tohono O'Oodham Jegos Saturday afternoon at Theo Heap Gym, 58-44, in an ACCAC matchup.
Natalie Stilwell led the way for the T-Birds as she scored 16 points and six rebounds.
It really was a tale of two halves as both the Jegos and T-Birds battled back and forth in the first half, with Mesa's biggest lead coming in the last minute of the second quarter, which was five, 27-22.
But the Jego's drained a three with four seconds left in the half to cut Mesa's lead 27-25.
The T-Birds came out in the second half with an increased intensity, especially in the fourth quarter as they outscored the Jegos 13-7 to finish off the victory.
Briana Clah finished a double-double, 11 points and 10 rebounds while Sham Troupe had 10 points and seven rebounds.
Mesa is 9-10 on the season, 6-5 in the ACCAC. They will be on the road this Wednesday at Cochise. Continue to check the website for further updates.
