Women's Basketball Plagued with Turnovers, lose at Scottsdale, 80-62

Scottsdale, AZ- It was a night to forget for the women's basketball team as they lost to the Scottsdale Artichokes, 80-62.

There were very few bright spots for Mesa, as they couldn't control the ball and made a total of 43 turnovers for the game, 22 in the first half.  Even though Mesa had a hard time keeping the ball in their possession, they managed to tie to the game at halftime, 34-34.

They went on a 12-2 run the last three minutes to get it to that score, with two three pointers from Briana Clah helping their cause.

The first five minutes of second half was dreadful for Mesa as Scottsdale scored the first 13 points of the half, with the Artichokes getting up by as much as 24 in the fourth quarter.

Clah finished with 22 points for the T-Birds on 5-13 shooting and she connected on 9-11 free throws.

Mesa is now 5-7 on the season, 4-3 in ACCAC.  This was the first Mesa has lost to Scottsdale since January of 2008.
