Hohokams provide financial support for Mesa women's basketball

  MESA, AZ – The Mesa Hohokams, the world-famous service organization widely known for its support of Hohokam Stadium, former Spring Training home of the Chicago Cubs and current host to the Oakland A's, has given a major boost to the Mesa women's basketball team's fund raising efforts.

  The Hohokams have contributed to Mesa for the past three years according to MCC head coach Kori Stephenson.

  "Their support helps us purchase various kinds of equipment that we couldn't under our regular budget," says Stephenson. "We are truly appreciative of their support."

  The Hohokams recently hosted Stephenson and MCC assistant coach Sam Stevens at an MLB Fall Leage game at the new Cubs Park, which the group also supports.

  The T-Birds are the defending NJCAA Division II national champions.
