Track and field headed to indoor nationals Friday and Saturday
Pittsburg, Kan. – The MCC track and field teams will participate in the NJCAA Indoor National Championships Friday and Saturday at the Prentice-Gudgen Complex.
Leading the way for the Mesa men is Tristan Stellmach. Among his top qualifying spots are ninth place in the 1,000-meters at 2:31.87 and 11th in the mile with a 4:16.81 clocking.
Makel Hubbard has the third best high jump at 6-10 ¾ and Marcus Naisant is ranked sixth in the heptathlon with a 4423 total.
On the women's side, Quinn Johnson is ranked second in the 5,000-meters at 17:53.71, third in the mile with a time of 5:05.59 and sixth in the 1000 having posted a 3:03.47.
Reese Young is ranked third in the pentathlon with 3171 points and Sadie Sweeney has the ninth best weight throw with a toss of 53-5 ½.
