Track and field set for indoor NJCAA nationals after NAU Tune-up

Flagstaff, AZ – Their eyes firmly on the NJCAA indoor national championships, the Mesa track and field teams completed their regular season Friday at the NAU Tune-Up.

There were four national qualifying performances, two of which were improvements over previous marks and one brand new standard.

Marquis Tiller-Brown bettered his mark in the 400 meters with a 48.29 clocking.

In addition, Makel Hubbard lifted his mark in the high jump to 6-10 ¾, four inches better than his previous height.

Also, Marcus Naisant posted a 23- ½ leap in the long jump, but has already gone 23-1 ¼.

For the Mesa women, Quinn Johnson ran the 800 in 2:22.53 to qualify in that event, her fourth.

Nationals will be held March 1-2 in Pittsburg, Kan.
