Track and field opens outdoor season at U of A

  Tucson, AZ – The Mesa track and field teams opened their 2017 outdoor season at the University of Arizona's Willie Williams Classic with some fine performances.

  Among the top performers for the women, who finished eighth in the nation at the NJCAA Inddor National Championships recently, was Annika Scott who posted a 165-7 toss in the hammer  and a 121-2 in the discus.

  On the men's side, Adrian King took third place overall in the long jump with a leap of 23- ½. Cameron Lewis was sixth in the discus with a 152-3.

  MCC will compete in a series of events this week, the Mesa Multis on Thursday and Friday at John D. Riggs Stadium and the Distance in the Dark on Thursday and Saturday.
