Indoor Track & Field Qualify Two More for Nationals

Glendale, AZ – Two new qualifiers for the NJCAA Indoor national championships, and two improved qualifying performances, highlighted the Mesa track and field effort at the Glendale Invitational Saturday.

Adrian King added his name to the list with a 23-4 ¼ leap in the men's long jump. He placed fourth at nationals last year at 23-10 ½.

Meanwhile, Onnika Scott picked up a second event for nationals with a 40-11 ¾ toss in the women's shot put.

She also improved her mark in the weight throw to 52-4.  Also bettering a previous performance for the women was Ally Keil who cleared 11-5 ¾ in the pole vault.

The T-Birds will travel to Flagstaff Friday for the Northern Arizona Tune-up and then return home Saturday Feb. 25 for the Mesa last chance.
