National Track & Field Championships DAY 1 Results

LEVELLAND, Texas – The Mesa track and field teams got off to fine starts at the NJCAA Division I National Championships on the first day of competition at South Plains College.  

MCC men took three of the top five spots in the hammer throw. Josh Hamberlin was second at 60.53 meters.  

Clay Campbell took third with a toss of 56.64 and Jacob McBride placed fifth at 55.53.  

Meanwhile, in the women's hammer, Onnika Smith grabbed seventh place with a distance of 47.05.  

Hilary Ogutu was scheduled to run in the 10,000 which was late in the program and will be reported
tomorrow.
