Mesa Softball Takes Yavapai to the Wire in Game Two, Fall in Both Games, 9-1, 2-1 Finals

Mesa, AZ - The Thunderbirds had Yavapai on the ropes Thursday afternoon in game two of a double-header but it was the Roughriders who made the final knock out as Mesa dropped both games, 9-1 (6) and 2-1 (8).

Mesa used solid pitching from Alyssa Matus and Jaden Placencio in game two to keep Yavapai off the scoreboard, forcing extra innings but tied 1-1 in the eighth, Yavapai scored the run they needed to get the sweep.

The T-Birds will be right back in action this Saturday when they host Eastern Arizona College in a double-header, beginning at noon.
