Ryann Holmes, Gaby Lopez Earn ACCAC Weekly Honors
The Mesa Thunderbirds Ryann Holmes and Gaby Lopez have earned ACCAC DII Player and Pitcher of the Week honors for their performances against Scottsdale and Gateway this past week.
Ryann Holmes earned Player of the Week honors as she nearly unstoppable at the plate. Holmes was 12 for 16 with 3 home runs, 3 triples and 2 doubles. She had 14 RBIs, scored 11 times while helping the T-Birds to a 4-0 record last week.
Gaby Lopez earned Pitcher of the Week honors, coming off the week she earned NJCAA Pitcher of the Week honors. Lopez appeared in 3 games, pitched in 15 innings, all MCC victories. She struck out 10 batters and allowed 6 earned runs.
