Softball Wins First Two Games of the Season, 9-1(5), 6-3
Mesa, AZ- Mesa's softball team won their first two games of the season against the Grand Canyon University Club Team Saturday afternoon, 9-1(5) and 6-3.
Nikki Verdugo pitched the first game and gave up five hits with five walks but only allowed the one run. Mesa had a six run third inning that helped them cruise the rest of the way.
In the second game, Brittany Ramos club a homer off the top of the fence that helped Mesa propel out to a 6-0 lead which they eventually finished out 6-3.
The T-Birds will be on the road next Tuesday at Phoenix College then back home for a double header against Paradise Valley next Saturday.
