PRESCOTT, AZ - The Mesa softball season came to an end Tuesday with a doubleheader loss to Yavapai, 3-2 and 6-4.
Still, with a 23-31 record the T-Birds made strides with nine more wins than a year ago.
In game one, Kendra Whelan (So., Flagstaff, AZ/Coconino H.S.) was at her best, going 4-4. Mariah Gonzales (So., Gilbert, AZ/Highland H.S.) added two hits as did Bridget Kruck (So., Lynden, Wash/Lynden Christian H.S.).
No T-Bird had more than one hit in game two, although Kye Padilla (Fr., Flagstaff, AZ/Flagstaff H.S.) had a double and an RBI.
