Mesa, AZ- It wasn't exactly how Grady Moorhead wanted to start off his tenure at Mesa as head coach as the T-Birds kicked off its softball season by losing both sides of a double-header against the Phoenix Bears, 7-0, 14-0(5 innings).

Phoenix came into Mesa ranked as the NJCAA Divsion II fourth- ranked team in the country so a win was a tall task indeed for the T-Birds.

Mesa will be on the road for the next week and then back at home February 17th for a double header against Eastern Arizona, first pitch at 1 p.m.
