Mesa softball announces first signings for 2016

MESA, AZ - First year Mesa head softball coach Grady Moorhead is busily preparing his team for the 2015 season which opens soon, but he is also hot on the trail of recruits for 2016 and has announced his first two signees for next year.

Faith Napodano, from Highland H.S. in Gilbert, AZ, and Adelyne Gomez, of St. Mary's H.S. in Phoenix recently became the first two players to commit to MCC for the 2016 season.

"Faith and Adelyne are both great students and compete at a high level," said Moorhead. "Our program is extremely excited to have them and we look forward to them wearing the T-Bird uniform next season."

Napodano, who both pitches and plays the infield, and Gomez, also an infielder, are the first to join Moorhead as he builds the Mesa program. A former Mesa assistant, Moorhead had most recently served as an assistant coach at Mississippi State.

MCC begins its 2015 season on Feb. 3, hosting Phoenix at 1:00 p.m.
