Men's tennis battles, but falls to NCAA DII Western New Mexico
Mesa, AZ – The men's tennis team took on one of its toughest opponents of the year, NCAA Division II Western New Mexico Saturday, and although MCC fell, 8-1, head coach Feroz Rast was still quite pleased.
"We played a very good Divion II team today and I thought we came with the right focus just could not win the big points," noted Rast. " I was very impressed with how Saarang Phadnis and Wyatt Anderson played in doubles and they almost pulled out the big win at number 1. Saarang also played really well in singles and pulled out a big victory at number 2. I'm looking forward to our first conference match next week against Paradise Valley."
Phadnis scored a 6-3, 6-4 triumph over Erik Dallman.
The T-Birds will host Paradise Valley Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
