MCC tennis teams ready for season openers

The Mesa men's and women's tennis teams kicked off their spring season with a friendly scrimmage against Ottawa University on Friday Jan. 24th at Surprise Tennis Center. The day was filled with lots of positives as the Thunderbirds got to play the highly ranked Spirit.

Coach Feroz Rast thoughts on the day: "I was very happy to see how we competed today on the court. The teams have been eager to start playing and I thought we did really well facing one of the top teams in the NAIA. We are a very young team and we gained valuable experience today that will help us going forward. I look for us to build on the positives today when we get back to practice on Monday."

The men's team has three matches next week. They start off the week on Thursday when they travel to Flagstaff to play NCAA Division I Northern Arizona University followed by home matches with Imperial Valley College (CA) on Friday and NAIA Arizona Christian University on Saturday. The women's team plays two matches taking on Imperial Valley and Arizona Christian.
