Mesa eliminated in tennis nations semi-finals in tight matches

  Plano, Texas – All three of Mesa's remaining entrants in the NJCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship were eliminated in tight semi-final matches Thursday.

  The T-Birds will finish with 27 points, putting them in seventh place which is where they will likely finish.

  Unseeded Eduardo Cuoto's run through the No. 6 singles flight was ended in a tense match with Jose Castro of Cowley 4-6, 6-4, 6-7(4). Cuoto had defeated two seeded opponents.

  He then reached the semi-finals of the No. 3 doubles with Matt Fisher. They lost to fourth seeded Myrohn Miranda and Matias Vargas of Laredo, 2-6, 2-6.

  In No. 2 doubles, Gergo Rendek and David Felix fell to second seeded Tin Chen and Kentaro Mizushima of ASA Miami, 2-6, 6-7(3).
