Men's tennis edged by California's No. 2 team, 5-4

  Norwalk, Calif. – Taking two of the three doubles matches, California's second-ranked team, Cerritos College edged the Mesa men's tennis team, 5-4, Friday. Cerritos is 26-1 on the season, while MCC fell to 9-5.

  The T-Birds won the No. 2 doubles match as David Felix and George Rendek topped Bruno Duarte and Paulo Silvestri, 8-5.

  The two teams split the six singles matches with Felix taking the No. 1 match over Sasha Krasnov, the top-rated player in Southern California and previously unbeaten, 7-5, 6-3. Noel Maurin stopped Aleks Trifunovic, 3-6, 6-2, 10-4 at No. 3. Kim Donghyun won at No. 6, 6-4, 6-3 over Mukhammadjon Sanaev, 6-4, 6-3.

   Mesa concludes its three-match California trip Saturday, meeting College of the Desert at 11:00 a.m.
