Men's tennis finishes in tie for fourth place at NJCAA nationals

  PLANO, Texas - Mesa lost in the semi-finals at No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles to conclude its competition at the NJCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship Thursday.

  Mesa finished in a tie for fourth place with Seminole (Okla.), each team with 27.5 points. ASA (NY) won with 50 points, Tyler (Texas) had 43 and Abraham Baldwin was third with 33.

  Vitalli Kotenianets (Fr., Ukraine) fell to top-seeded Rasheed Carey, of ASA (N.Y.), 1-6, 1-6 in one No. 4 singles semi-final match.

  Kotelianets then teamed with Andy Nguyen (So., Bien Hoa, Vietnam/Hamilton (AZ) H.S.) to give a strong battle to No. 1 seeded Jonah Candelario and Vaughn Hunter, of Tyler before falling 5-7, 3-6, in the No. 3 singles semi-finals.
