Mesa men's soccer defeat South Mountain, 2-1

Mesa, AZ- The men's soccer team beat the South Mountain Cougars Thursday night, 2-1.

Benjamin Delgadillo scored the first goal for Mesa 3:54 into the game.  South Mountain battled back and at around the 35th minute mark, the Cougars scored their first goal, tieing the game at one.

Both teams battled into the second half but it was Mesa's Max Schmidt that knocked in the second and eventual winning goal at the 74:35 mark.

Mesa has now won two straight games and gets back to having a winning record at 6-5.

The T-Birds will be on the road this weekend at Arizona Western then to Yavapi College next Tuesday. Mesa dropped both of those matches earlier in the season at home.
