Benjamin Delgadillo leads Mesa men's soccer over South Mountain, 4-0

Phoenix, AZ - The Mesa men's soccer team wasted no time to get on the board in their opener at South Mountain.  Actually, they wasted 24 seconds.  Mesa's Benjamin Delgadillo scored the first goal of the game, the first of four for Mesa, in a shutout of South Mountain, 4-0.

The game had barely commenced when Mesa sent the opening ball around to Obedd Fuentes who sent a nice lead pass to Delgadillo who then put the ball into the back of the net.  Everyone who was watching sat in shock at how fast Mesa had scored.

Mesa wasted little time to get on the board again as Seth Krueger put in the T-Birds second goal at the 41:55 mark from the left side, with the assist going to Delgadillo.

Mesa, and especially Delgadillo, didn't feel the need to put the rest of the game on cruise control just yet as he scored again at the 38:58 mark from the top of the box to extend Mesa's lead to 3-0.

In the second half, the T-Birds continue to pressure the Cougars as Kody Gibbs finished off the scoring with a goal that snuck past the Cougar goalkeeper.

Mesa starts off the season at 1-0 and look to continue their hot play next week at home when they face Arizona Western and Yavapi.

Those games can be seen on the live video stream on T-Bird Sports Live.
