Men's soccer places three on all-ACCAC team
MESA, AZ - The Region I playoff bound Mesa men's soccer team has had three players chosen to the all-ACCAC squad.
Forward Ari Sanchez (So., Gilbert, AZ/Highland H.S.) was named to the first team, midfielder Brian Perea (Fr., Mesa, AZ/Mesa H.S.) was a second team selection and defender Danny Wichman (So., Chandler, AZ/Hamilton H.S.) was an honorable mention choice.
The T-Birds have an 11-9 record and are headed to the Region I playoffs for the second straight year.
Sanchez was MCC's leading goal-scorer with eight. He also had four assists. He had important game-winning goals twice agsinst Scottsdale.
Perea led the T-Birds with 11 assists and added six goals for a team-leading 23 points. He had a game-winning goal against Arizona Western and scored twice versus GateWay.
Wichman was a standout on defense all year, starting all 20 games.
