YUMA, AZ - Enrique Lopez scored the only goal of the game as Arizona Western slipped past the Mesa men's soccer team 1-0 Saturday afternoon.
Lopez scored his goal in the 62nd minute and the Matador defense made it stand up as AWC avenged an earlier 2-1 loss to the T-Birds.
The loss dropped MCC to 7-5 on the season while Arizona Western is now 7-6 overall and 6-6 in ACCAC play.
Things don't get any easier for Mesa which will host second-ranked Yavapai Thursday at John D. Riggs Stadium in a 5:30 p.m. game.
