Hardman, Guess both in top 20 at NJCAA men's golf midpoint

  Foley, Ala. – Two Mesa golfers were among the top 20 at the midway point of the NJCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championship Tuesday.

  Both Jake Guess and Austin Hardman were among the top group at the Glen Lakes G.C.

  Guess soared from 44th place into a tie for 20th after a one-over-par 73 Tuesday to give him a four-over 148 total.

  Hardman slipped from a tie for second place into a tie for 15th after a four-over 76 which put him three-over for the tournament at 147. Scoring overall was up slightly to an average of 79.24 for the entire field compared to 78.76 on Monday.

  MCC's other entry, Ryan Porter, shot a second consecutive seven-over-par 79 to sit in a tie for 74th place at 158.

  Both of the first two rounds have been interrupted by lightning. Morning thunderstorms are possible for Wednesday's third round.
