Sam Ballard Earns 200th Victory as Mesa Head Coach in 70-64 Win Over Eastern Arizona

Mesa, AZ - Mesa Thunderbirds head men's basketball coach earned his 200th victory in his tenure as the T-Bird head coach with a victory over Eastern Arizona College, 70-64.

Leading the way for Mesa was Kyle Fischer, who finished with 19 points, six rebounds and six steals.  It was Fischer's final free-throws at the end of the game that sealed the 200th victory for Coach Ballard.

Both teams remained neck-in-neck all game, exchanging nine lead changes and tying four times.

Elijah Moore also contributed 15 points for Mesa as the T-Birds as a whole shot 40 percent from the field and connected on 17-21 free throw attempts.

Mesa moves to 9-6 overall with a 5-3 conference record.  The T-Birds will play at home this coming Saturday evening against the Scottsdale Artichokes beginning at 5 pm.
