Douglas, AZ - For the third season in a row, the Mesa Thunderbirds have fallen to the Cochise Apaches in the Region I - ACCAC DI Tournament, 74-52.
Throughout the season, each team fared about the same as the Apaches ended just one conference game better than the T-Birds with each team splitting the two game season series.
With the game tied at 17 ten minutes in, the Apaches went on a 9-4 run throughout the next four minutes. Cochise then took an 11 point lead into halftime, 40-29.
Mesa mounted a small rally to cut the Cochise lead to 45-38 but the T-Birds couldn't close it any closer.
The T-Birds finished the season with an overall record of 16-14.
