Mesa, AZ - The #8 ranked Pima Aztecs defeated the Mesa Thunderbirds Wednesday night, 106-70, at Theo Heap Gym.
The Aztecs left little doubt that they are one of the best teams in the country in the DII rankings as they jumped out quickly and often. Mesa trailed at the break, 57-18.
The T-Birds were able to post 52 points in the second half but trailing by such a large margin at halftime made it nearly impossible to mount any kind of comeback.
Sindou Diallo led Mesa scorers with 16 points. The T-Birds will be on the road this Saturday at Phoenix College for a 4 pm tipoff.
