T-Birds Use the Three Ball to Take Down Phoenix College, 89-69

Phoenix, AZ - The Mesa Thunderbirds connected on 13 three pointers that helped beat the Phoenix College Bears Tuesday night, 89-69.

Leading all scorers on the night was Adonis Arms, who finished with 21 points, nailing five three pointers and shooting 55 percent from the field total.  

Also connecting of five three pointers was Austin Denham, who finished with 16 points, shooting five of six from three.  

Michael Vos-Otin was just four assists shy of a triple-double, scoring 12 points, pulling down 10 rebounds and dishing out six assists.

Mesa shot 35-58 (60%) from the field on the night, while connecting on 6-8 free throws.

With the victory, Mesa finishes the regular season with an 18-11 overall record and a 13-9 conference mark.  The T-Birds will enter the ACCAC DI Tournament this Saturday as the #3 seed and with Cochise losing at Tohono O'Odham and Arizona Western beating Pima Tueday night, Mesa will travel to Douglas to face Cochise.  The T-Birds and Apaches will do battle at 7:30 pm, with the winner facing the winner of Arizona Western and Central.
