Douglas, AZ- In the semi-final of the ACCAC DI Tournament, the Cochise Apaches defeated the Mesa Thunderbirds, 83-54.
In a packed house, Mesa kept up with Cochise through the first 12 minutes of the game, only being down three, 23-20.
With a chance to take advantage of a Cochise technical with two additional free throws, Mesa could only convert one of the four free throws, making the score, 23-21.
The Apaches scored the rest of the points in the half which set the tone for the rest of the game. Cochise took a 32-21 lead into halftime and came out in the second half on fire from the outside, leaving Mesa with no chance of catching back up.
