Basketball All-Americans sign with NCAA Division I schools

MESA, AZ - Their commitments had already been announced, but Monday Mesa's two basketball All-Americans made it official when Kylie Herd (So., Phoenix, AZ/Arcadia H.S.) and Khari Holloway (So., Jackson, Miss/Mountain Pointe (AZ) H.S.) signed their letters-of-intent to play NCAA Division I basketball next year.

Herd will be headed to San Diego State, while Holloway will move north to Portland State.

Herd led another fine MCC women's basketball team which posted a 20-11 record, its seventh straight 20-victory season. She averaged 10.7 points and 7.5 rebounds and was named Region I, Division II Player of the Year before garnering second team NJCAA Division II All-American honors.

Holloway helped direct the T-Birds to a 21-9 record and second straight Region I, Division I title game spot. He averaged 17.2 points and led the nation in free throw shooting with a .931 percentage. He then claimned NJCAA Division I honors.
