Holloway commits to Portland State

  MESA, AZ - All-American guard Khari Holloway (So., Jackson, Miss/Mountain Pointe (AZ) H.S.) has committed to Portland State to continue his career.

  Holloway, who became MCC's first NJCAA Division I All-American in men's basketball in five years when he was named a second team selection, signed his Letter of Intent Sunday to join the Vikings.

  He averaged 17.2 points per game for the T-Birds, leading them to a 21-9 record and a second straight berth in the Region I tournament.

  In addition, he contributed 4.8 assists and 4.0 rebounds and even had 1.1 steals per game.

  Maybe most amazing, he led the nation in free throw shooting with a .931 percentage, making 162 of 174 attempts. He had streaks of 41, 28 and 19 consecutive makes.

  Portland State is a member of the Big Sky Conference and went 15-14 last season.
