Jared Stangler Earns NJCAA 2nd Team All-American

The 2018 NJCAA All-American football teams have been announced and Mesa's Jared Stangler found a spot among this years best.

Stangler has earned a spot on the second team specials teams as a punter.  Throughout the 2018 season for the Mesa Thunderbirds, Stangler played significant roles as not only the punter but the kickoff man and place kicker for a few games.

The sophomore from Willow Canyon made 34 punts on the season, totalling 1504 yards, averaging 44.2 per punt.  Stangler's longest punt of the season went 60 yards while he pinned 10 punts inside the 20 yard-line.

Stangler is the first punter at Mesa to earn All-American honors since 2006.  Along with earning All-American honors, Stangler earned 1st Team All-WSFL/All-ACCAC.
