Tucson, AZ - The #9 Mesa Thunderbirds finished their regular season Saturday night with a victory over the Pima Aztecs, 37-32, at the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, AZ.
Rathen Ricedorff threw for four touchdowns while Jacquez Kalili scampered for Mesa's first touchdown of the night from 55 yards out.
One of Ricedorffs touchdown passes was to Aaron Molina that went for 95 yards, which is the longest touchdown pass of the season across the nation. Ricedorff and Molina had previously held the record with the longest touchdown pass (87 yards).
Two touchdown passes found the hands of tight end Connor Anderson and the final touchdown pass went to Sonnie Richardson from 22 yards out.
With the victory, Mesa finishes the regular season with an 8-2 mark, the best record Ryan Felker has had since 2013 when the T-Birds finished 8-2 in the regular season.
The Thunderbirds will host the Valley of the Sun Bowl December 3rd at John D. Riggs Stadium. The opponent has not been decided but will in the coming week.
