Rathen Ricedorff, Rashun Parker Earn WSFL Player of the Week Honors

Rathen Ricedorff and Rashun Parker have earned WSFL Player of the Week honors for their performances in Mesa's win over Glendale on Saturday night, 42-7.

Rashun Parker earned defensive player of the week for the T-Birds.  Parker was a one man wrecking crew as he had six total tackles (three solo), two sacks for 14 yards, two and half tackles for loss for 15 yards, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and two quarterback hurries.

For Parker, this is his first WSFL player of the week recognition in his career.  For the T-Birds, this is their second WSFL defensive player of the week recognition of 2016, the first being Amonai Itaaehau in week two against Eastern Arizona College.

Rathen Ricedorff earned offensive player of the week for the T-Birds.  Ricedorff threw for 449 yards on 28-39 passing five touchdowns while also running for 24 yards and one touchdown.

For Ricedorff, this is his second WSFL player of the week honor in a row, being recongized also as the NJCAA offensive player of the week for his play against then #1 Snow College.  In all, Ricedorff has made six total starts as Mesa's quarterback and he has earned WSFL player of the week four times and national player of the week once.  He is 5-1 in those six starts.
