Carr, Ricedorff earn Week 3 WSFL Honors

Aeron Carr(So., Mesa, AZ, Red Mountain H.S.) and Rathen Ricedorff(Fr., Showlow, AZ, Showlow H.S.) have earn Week 3 Western States Football League Player of the Weeks Honors for their performance against Phoenix College in their 55-52 2OT victory Saturday night.

Carr earned Special Team Player of the Week.  Tied at 21, Carr exploded for a 91 yard kickoff return to give Mesa the 28-21 lead.  For the night, Carr had five returns for 146 yards with the TD return.  Carr is the second T-Bird to win the Special Teams Player of the Week Honor, as punter Simon Laryea earn the honor in week 1 against Snow College.

Ricedorff earned Offensive Player of the Week.  He threw for 249 yards on 15-31 passing with four touchdown passes.  He also used his legs and rushed for 100 yards, his longest going for 19 yards.  This was his first start as quarterback for the T-Birds, helping guide them to their first victory of the season.
