T-Birds place 13 on all-ACCAC/all-WSFL teams

  MESA, AZ – Mesa has placed a total of 13 players, in 14 different positions, on the all-ACCAC and all-WSFL football teams for 2014.

  Leading the way was tight end Dusty Cook (Fr. Gilbert, AZ/Highland H.S.) who was named first team all-ACCAC. He caught 22 passes for 262 yards and led the squad with seven touchdowns.

  Garette Craig (So., Phoenix, AZ/Mountain Pointe H.S.) was chosen in two spots,  second team all-ACCAC and WSFL at wide receiver and second team all-ACCAC and honorable mention all-WSFL return specialist. He led the T-Birds with 57 catches for 776 yards and five scores and ran back 23 kickoffs and three punts.

  Also earning second team all-ACCAC selections were offensive lineman Andrew Alvarado (So., Chandler, AZ/Chandler H.S.), defensive lineman Aulelio Olomua (So., Mesa, AZ/Mesa H.S.), linebacker Wesley Payne (Fr., Phoenix, AZ/Mountain Pointe H.S.) and defensive back Derron Brown (Fr., Laveen, AZ/Fairfax H.S.).

Craig, Olomua and Payne were all also second team all-WSFL.

  The ASCCC team includes all football playing schools in Arizona while the WSFL team also includes Snow (Utah) and New Mexico Military.

The all-conference teams:
