#2 Mesa Baseball Sweeps Two Game Series with Glendale, Win 5-3 Wednesday Afternoon

Mesa, AZ - The #2 Mesa Thunderbirds defeated the Glendale Gauchos Wednesday afternoon, 5-3, to take the two game series with the Gauchos as Mesa won on Tuesday afternoon, 4-1.

Jake Fryer knocked in Mesa's first run in the second inning when he doubled in Sam Low, who reached by way of an error.  Mesa then scored one in the third inning and two in the fifth when the T-Birds collected three hits in the inning.  

The final T-Bird run came when Zach Wagner singled home Ben Ferguson who reached base by starting the inning with a single.

Erik Dulittle started on the hill for the T-Birds, going five innings, allowing seven hits, two runs, one earned.  Michael Hansell finished the final four innings for Mesa, allowing just one hit and one run, and striking out four.  Dulittle recorded his second win of the season with Hansell earning his first save of the season.

Mesa moves its record to 14-1 on the season and 3-1 in conference play.  The T-Birds will play a double-header this coming Saturday at home vs Pima, first game starting at noon.
